Abstract：This talk is aimed at researchers who are working on developing nonlinear optical materials for optical switching. It starts with review on historical background and explaining nonlinear interferometers for achieving all-optical computing. Then, the figures of merits will be introduced. Finally, the talk will discuss recent developments, in particular, on silicon, two-dimensional materials, nearly-zero epsilon materials, and thermo-optic materials.
